There some amazing voices in our "Choirs" 20 20 Retro COuntdown.. as we feature 20 hits that featured a choir.

And it probably wont suprise you that some of the artists in the countdown - the likes of Billy Joel and Neil Diamond, sung in choirs at some stage themselves.. but outisde the countdown, there are a few singers who you might not believe were in Choirs... like this guy below.

Also in the choirs countdown - we'll featuring a couple of movies that had choirs... this is the best known..

 

 

July 1977

We're winding back the 20 20 Retro Countdown clock to July 1977 when the last British woman to win the ladies title at Wimbledon held up the trophy - it happened during the centenary celebrations of the tournament.

It was also the week when Roger Moore returned as James Bond for the 3rd time..

 

On TV Number 96 was on the chopping block! It was around this time in 1977 that rumours were circling that the show was to finish up - and sure enough - the cast said their goodbyes a month later.

 

 

1985

Right in the thick of this year's state of Origin series, we're turning back the 20 20 Retro Countdown clock to the week when New South Wales sealed their very first State of Origin Series win... it's mid June 1985.

Also during this week - Coca Cola announced that New Coke was gone and they were returning to the 99 year old recipe.. and you might have been sipping a new - new coke while watching Cocoon at the cinema...

The number 1 from this week in 1985 came from a lady who was surrounded in controversy after a couple of photos that she had posed for in the late 70's popped up in a few magazines...

All that in our trip back to 1985 on the 20 20 Retro Countdown.

As we return from the long weekend - the 20 20 Retro Countdown takes us back to this week in 1988..

Expo was on... you would have seen these expo dollars..

and we were watching a TV ad that had us all quoting... "That's Na How You Make Porridge"..

And Tom Hanks made a Big impression on the Big screen in.... "BIG"
