This week we visit the week that the orignal Jurassic Park movie hit the cinemas...

 

While we were watching Jurassic Park at the cinema - UB40 had their biggest hit world wide... it was their cover of an Elvis classic that featured in the movie "Sliver" starring Sharon Stone... (I Can't Help) Falling IN Love With You - number 1 for 6 weeks in mid 1993.

Lenny Kravitz had his biggest hit in '93 too... but it was a time of ups and downs... announcing he and Lisa Bonet were splitting!

 

And it was during mid July 1993 that adventurer Dick Smith became the first person to cross Australia in a hot air baloon!

 

 

Destination - mid July 1987 in the 20 20 Retro Countdown - when Prime Minister Bob Hawke became the first Labor leader to win 3 consecutive Federal elections and the world's population reached 5 billion according to the United Nations..

 

During that week, the number 1 song came from a couple of former models.... and the hit movie was this one..

 

And one of the biggest hits of mid July came from one of the biggest Australian television events of all time...Angry Anderson was in the top 10 following Scott and Charlene's wedding!

It was the week when Donkey Kong was released... maybe you were playing it on your flash new dual screen hand held LCD gaming device..

You might have been playing that in the car on your way to see this movie...
