We're widing back the 20 20 Retro Countdown clock to the first week in August 1982... when the countdown was on to the Commonwealth games being held in Brisbane... so Matilda was probably starting to get nervous ahead of her starring appearance at the opening ceremony..

And it was the week when Coca-cola unveiled their new product..

During this week in 1982 - every news paper and magazine had the first pictures of young Prince William - he was only about 6 weeks old..

All that and a number 1 that was only in the top spot for that week - and the artist never made the charts here again.... in our 20 20 Retro Countdown from early August 1982!

August is here... so, as is the tradition on the 20 20 Retro Countdown - we're starting the month by getting together all of the biggest artists who have a birthday this month - and throwing one big party!!!.... and, we can't go any further without recognising the horses birthday ofcourse ofcourse - August 1st!
