We're winding back the 20 20 Retro Countdown clock to July 1977 when the last British woman to win the ladies title at Wimbledon held up the trophy - it happened during the centenary celebrations of the tournament.

It was also the week when Roger Moore returned as James Bond for the 3rd time..

 

On TV Number 96 was on the chopping block! It was around this time in 1977 that rumours were circling that the show was to finish up - and sure enough - the cast said their goodbyes a month later.
