This week on the 20 20 Retro Countdown...

Join me Monday for the top 20 hits from brilliant big selling albums that were releaed during the first couple of weeks of November over the years.... yes - timing was everything - released just in time for Christmas..

On Tuesday - we'll take a trip back to the week when Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen won the Queensland election by his biggest margin... after that victory - he set his sights on toppling Prime Minister Bob Hawke... remember this from 1986?

On Wednesday - we'll play the top 20 from the week in 1979 when this movie was released..

Thursday takes us back to mid November 1983...maybe you remember these characters who turned up on our TV's during that week... do you remember what they were called?? Do you remember the theme song?

And we'll wrap up our week of 20 20's - with a really interesting look at 20 groups who took their names from other artists songs.... the Rolling Stones are the perfect example...

Wednesday - it's party time!! Opening 20 musical gifts from artists celebrating a Birthday in November..

Thursday - we get Oz music month started with the biggest 20 Aussie Singles... could be controversial!

And on Friday - it's one of our favourite countdowns... celebrating the hits that were huge around the world - but for some reason - when they made it to Australia - they crashed out...

The first week of November keeps us pretty busy - on the 20 20 Retro Countdown!

 

The next 20 20 Retro Countdown brings together 20 bands who were all created through ads!

Most of the bands in our countdown recruited band members through classifieds in news papers and magazines.. but there's also a few ads posted on bulletin boards...

Phil Collins responded to this ad and joined Genesis..

Davy, Mickey, Mike and Peter were the insane boys chosen to be "The Monkees"

400 ladies auditioned - only 5 were chosen! They were named "The Spice Girls"

Paul Stanley got his man from this ad that wasnother chapter in the life of KISS!

On the next 20 20 Retro Countdown - we're heading back to early September 1987 - the week when one of the most anticipated albums of the late 80's was released...

We'll pay tribute to that album - and remember some of the other events of early September 1987..

like the launch of a tv show that introduced us the buzz word - "infotainment"

 

And do you remember this movie that hit the cinemas during this week in 1987..
