Hi it's Aaron... Just a couple of weeks to go til we wrap up the 20 20 for another year..

so don't miss the mid December countdowns..

Starts Monday with one of our favourites - it's the "Blondes"... 20 of our favourite Blonde Artists.. and if it's true that Blondes have more fun - then we're in for a ripper countdown!

On Tuesday - we're taking a trip back to this week in 1981... there were some great hits in the top 20 - but it's memorable for an event in the sporting world... it turned out to be the last fight for legend Muhammad Ali ... and as we know - this year Ali lost his final fight of all! But Tuesday's countdown takes us back to 1981!

Wednesday - we ramp up the countdown to Christmas with the top 20 from the week when this Christmas movie favourite was released - it's 1989!

On Thursday - our destination is mid - December 1986... the week when this Aussie TV Drama ended.. Got the top 20 from the week when those iron doors were slammed for the final time..

And finally this week - Friday gives us the chance to roll out another Christmas themed countdown - it's the songs that held the top spot on the Aussie charts on December 25th over the years - The Christmas Number 1's...

There you go - another week of 20 20 Countdowns gift wrapped and ready to go!

 

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun on the 20 20 Retro Countdown - with the first of our Chrissie themed countdowns later this week..

But we start the week - the way we like to start each month - with a tribut to some of the biggest artists who are blowing out birthday candles over the coming weeks... Have to tell you - I'm a December baby - so I know what it's like having a birthday at this time of year..

Tuesday - we'll remember when the Restless Years was on our TV's and this movie premiered on the big screen...

Do you remember Edward Scissorhands?? Wednesday's countdown features the top 20 from the week that Johnny Depp hit the big screen playing the man with scissors for hands.

On Thursday - we celebrate the anniversary of the release of the biggest selling album of all time... Michael Jackson released Thriller in early December 1982 - so we'll remember that brilliant album and play the top 20 from this week!

And finally - Friday features our first Christmas themed countdown... while we look forward for the arrival of Saint Nick... I've compiled a countdown full of Nicks... from Nick Rhodes from Duran Duran to Nik Kershaw - Nick Lowe to Nick Seymour from Crowded House... they're all part of our Nick's countdown!

This week - we start with the classified bands... the groups who came together through an ad!

On Tuesday - we're hitting the go button on a countdown full of songs with Go - Going - Gone in the title..

Wednesday takes us back to a countdown of the biggest artists without a big hit! It's a compilation of artists who never made the top 10 in Australia... some of them might be a shock...I couldn't believe this guy was on the list...

We'll remember the stories of bands who took their names from books, tv shows and movies on Thursday..

And Friday - we'll wrap our first week of our best of 2016 countdown wtih the artists who use their middle name... here's the most famous of all..
