The week when the tv family "The Simpsons" released an album... there was only 1 track on it that appeared in the tv show..

Maybe you were heading to Melbourne to see the premier of the Australian production of "Phantom Of The Opera" during this week in 1990..

It starred Anthony Warlow and Marina Prior..

 

 

Or the Stephen King thriller "Misery" could've been more your thing....it hit the cinemas during this week 25 years ago!

 

 

And the musical world was rocked by the news that these guys had not sung on their songs... leading to the stripping of their Grammy awards..

Icehouse are high up on the list too - but it's not a song that I would've thought would rank so high...

Maybe it's a bit of Aussie pride that got this hit so many votes..

Right through November, we've been celebrating Oz Music Month with a heap of Aussie music features... we've visited the 80's and 90's - played the Aussie ladies and the ARIA winners.... but throughout all those countdowns - there's a few Aussie artists who've been missed... so we're dragging them out for the "Forgotten Aussies" 20 20 Retro Countdown... there'll be a few in there that you haven't heard in a while...

Like the group who's lead singer got his start on a kids TV show..

 

 

There's the dup who met in Sydney - One of them was from New Zealand - the other was Russian and studied at the Moscow Conservatorium Of Music..

 

 

I'll play the 80's group who have reformed to play "A Day On The Green" shows in 2016... they chose their name because it was young, bright, fun and happy...

 

 

And high up in the countdown is a group who were confined to the 90's... formed in 1991 - broke up in 1999.. and in the middle had their only hit..
