Turning back the 20 20 Retro Countdown clock to late July 1978 - when Australia was leading the way in converting from black and white to colour TV's... by '78 65% of Australian homes had a brand new colour television set.... maybe your first one looked something like this...

On the paper chart at the time was a hit from the musical grease... the one that featured the "New Sandy"... did you know that the tight black outfit that Olivia Newton-John wore in this scene, was kept secret from the entire cast and crew.... when she walked onto the set - noone actually knew who she was..

 

And it was during late July 1978 that the world's first test tube baby was born... Louise Brown!

Heading back to July 1990 in the 20 20 Retro Countdown when Berlin was chosen for a performance of the Wall to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall... see if you can pick who this is singing "Another Brick In The Wall"

 

And this is what we were heading to the movies to see in late July...

 

The number during late July 1990 was also the biggest selling single of the year.. that and more on the 20 20 Retro Countdown!

Before those shows, bass guitarist Don Martin joins us on the 20 20 Retro Countdown...

Don will share 20 songs that influenced him, there's some great stories about life on the road, we'll pay tribute to the late Steve Gilpin and learn more about how Don Martin became involved in this TV show..

We're heading to the movies in the 20 20 Retro Countdown with a collection of songs from movie soundtracks... but in particular - the song titles that match the movie titles...

There's the hit written by Barry Gibb that was added for the movie...

 

We'll remember the movie hit that was chosen from 60 contenders as the title track for this 80's movie...
