A Wild Week Of Mad, Bad, AFL Turmoil And Aliens On The 20 20
Monday - We celebrate the ins and outs!
It's the "Mad Monday" Countdown with a collection of foolish, wild and crazy songs.. and along the way we'll look at the AFL and NRL teams who are already on Mad Monday - and we'll celebrate the teams who are still in with a chance in 2017!
1990 - The week of havoc in the AFL!
Join us for the hits of early September 1990 - when the Qualifying finals clash between the Magpies and the Eagles created turmoil in the AFL! Why? Cause the match ended in a draw - and with no extra time, they had to replay the final a week later. For the record - the Maggies won the rematch and went on to win the flag!
1978 - The week we met Mork from ORK!
On Wednesday, we're visiting the week when a spin off from "Happy Days" permiered in the US. The great Robin Williams starred opposite Pam Dawber in "Mork and Mindy" - the story of an Alien from Ork and his adventures on Earth. We'll mix a bit of Mork into the top 20 from this week in 1978!
1987 - Were you BAD??
Can you believe that this week marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Michael Jackson's "BAD". Ofcourse, "Thriller" was a hard act to follow, and it took 5 years for the follow up album to hit the stores. Wasn't bad at all - sold 35 million copies! We'll pay tribute to Bad as we play the hits of this week in 1987!
Sharon's suggested a beauty!!
Thanks to Sharon who went to the website and suggested a countdown featuring hits that feature the Harmonica... Great suggestion - why didn't we think of that! There are some brilliant artists who have mastered the harmonica and we've squeezed 20 into this countdown... actually, Stevie Wonder in particular pops up a few times. It's the Harmonica Hits on Friday.. and remember, you can suggest a theme for a countdown anytime - right here!
