Guy Fawkes Night

 

Do you remember going to a Guy Fawkes Night celebration...

They started to wind down here in Australia around the time that the general sale of fireworks was banned in the late 70's .. but I remember a couple of Guy Fawkes nights just with sparklers and a bonfire in the 80's... and maybe there are still events held on the 5th of November..

While the celebration is still strong in Britain, New Zealand and other countries... we're letting off our own fireworks on the 20 20 Retro Countdown..

Now, do you recall the poem that goes with Guy Fawkes celebrations...

 

So - we're playing 20 songs that could descibe a night on a blanket looking up at the sky and going.... ooooohhhhh - ahhhhhhh!

It's no suprise that we don't celebrat guy fawkes or "Bonfire Night" anymore in Australia... after all.. it is a time when the weather gets warmer and the fire season starts... but we can still have a bit of fun and play 20 songs about fireworks on the 20 20 Retro Countdown!!
