Air Supply feature on our countdown of the hits of late August 1980... and there's an interesting statistic with this Aussie group... they had 5 top 10 hits in Australia - and 4 of those had the word "love" in the title. 

Maybe they should've stuck with what worked for them...

The 20 20 Retro Countdown takes us back to late August 1991 this week.... it was during that week that the "Super Nintendo" gaming system was unveiled!

No doubt it was under plenty of Christmas trees come December '91!

I loved te Super Nintendo... best ever! Donkey Kong Country - Mario Brothers - and Street Fighter 2!

During our countdown of the hits from this week in 1985, we mentioned the tv show "The Eleventh Hour" which introduced us to a heap of comedians who would go on to brings up the skit shows "The Comedy Company" and "Fast Forward"... have a look - it's actually very funny.

Join us as we head back to the week when the wreck of the Titanic was discovered. We'll hear reports from the researchers amongst the top 20 hits from late August. Along the way, we'll hear a couple of songs from movie soundtracks - including the number 1 - and there's the Phil Collins hit that he admits - he doesn't truly know what the song is about. All part of our trip back to this week in 1985!

The Commitments were at the Cinema, Oprah arrived on Australian TV's and Dire Straits launched a tour that featured 20 shows here in OZ! We'll hear about those features of late August 1991 when we roll out the top 20... and at number 1 the song that held the top spot in Australia for an incredible 10 weeks.

Yes, Barnaby Jones starring Buddy Ebsen finished in late August 1980 - and it was a big week too for Alan Jones.. the formula one driver made his mark on the world!  And making it's mark on the charts was a song that was used in channel 7's coverage of the Moscow games... All that and more during our trip back to this week in 1980.

We get into September with a collection of artists and other celebrities who have a birthday coming up over the next month... There's some big ones to celebrate too... Yes, it's one of our favourite countdowns... the "European Invasion".. 20 artists who came out of continental Europe and took over the Aussie charts. Ofcourse, we'll hear from the likes of ABBA, Roxette and Europe.. but we'll remember people like Golden Earring and Blue Suede.. and the group who are amongst the biggest selling heavy metal bands of all time, who are one hit wonders here. We'll also hear from the dentist who's music career was frowned upon by his family - at first - in the European Invasion 20 20 Retro Countdown!

This countdown takes us back to mid August 1984 when the name on everyone's lips was "Dean Lukin". The weight lifter won gold in amazing fashion at the LA Olympics and topped that effort off by being chosen to carry the flag at the closing ceremony. While that was going on - the "Lion roared in 84" - listen for that tv ad flashback... and we'll look back at the biggest movie of the time, as we play the hits of this week in 1984!

This week is the 40th anniversary of the death of the king of Rock and Roll... and we'll pay tribute with a countdown dedicated to Elvis.
